Peter has over 20 years of experience working with native plants of the Midwest, including wildflowers, trees and shrubs. Each plant has been attended to extensively and carefully cultivated. No synthetic fertilizers or neonicotinoid insecticides are ever used. Many of the species at Somerset Native Plant Nursery are not found in the big box stores or even at local or regional nurseries.
Holly has been in the dirt since she was a kid, digging holes with her mom's spoons. The president of her school's FFA program, she has always grown plants either for in the house or outside for food. Her Uncle Walter was also the owner, along with his very glamourous wife, Lottie, of Waldo's Nursery in North Olmsted, Ohio. Partnering with her husband, Peter, she is bringing her love of growing to the native plants landscape, nurturing ecosystems that benefit flora and fauna alike and keeping a version of the family business alive.
Somerset Native Plant Nursery strives to be your in-the-city resource for native plants not found in local nurseries or big box stores.
We'd also like to offer garden starts of plants you can't find elsewhere.
